The Building Process - Wall Framing

Track fastened to the foundation

The 8" bottom track is fastened down and the 8" exterior wall studs will then be installed inside the flanges of the track. This track is "shot" down to the slab using power pins. Track installation on houses with a floor system is similar.

Top track connection
A short piece of 8" stud is screwed to the side of the red Iron columns at the correct height using #12 self tapping, hex head screws. The top track is then installed over the top edge and fastened with #8 self tapping, wafer head screws.

Top track connection

After the top track is installed the 8" wall studs can be slid into their correct location and fastened with #8 self tapping, wafer head screws.
