Although this shows the frames erected, the individual piece markings are clearly shown. For example the column is marked C1R, the Ceiling beam as CB3 and the Rafter as R1R. By using these markings and the assembly drawings the location of each red iron component can be easily determined.

The washer plates, which distribute the forces at the connection, are color coded for easy recognition and faster frame assembly. The white coded washer plate can be seen assembled at the column/ceiling beam connection.

The frames are assembled on the ground with the last frame to be erected built first (which will make it the last frame at the bottom of the stack). The individual components that make up the frame are set into place with scrap 2x4's underneath to raise the frame slightly off the ground and also to level the bottom frame. The bolts and washer plates are then installed at all connections and then tightened with an impact wrench or sockets and wrenches.

Short pieces of scrap 2x4's are then placed as spacers on top of the first frame and the second frame is assembled directly on top of the first frame. In most designs any individual component can be carried by one or two men.
