Much has happened in the past several days as you will be able to see from the pictures. The crew worked the past 12 days straight and have gone home for the weekend. They will return Monday to work another couple of weeks.
This shows the house from the garage end. Almost all of the purlins are in place now (red iron and purlins are about 97% complete). The red iron to the right of the house is front porch. You can also see the steel flooring system on top of the white foundation.
This is the steel flooring system. The big gray spot in the middle of the floor is the hole for the stairs to the basement.
This is the steel flooring system looking up from the basement ground level to the first floor.
This is the opening in the floor for the stairs. The columns looked bowed due to the wide angle lens. The holes in the steel members can be used to run utilities through.
This is the front of the house as seen coming down the drive. The front porch is just to the right of the orange machine.
Next week should be another big week. The roof decking will start on Monday. Roofing is to start on Wednesday. Have you ever seen a house where the roof goes on before the floor and walls are in place? This will give the crew a way to work in the shade and not be interrupted with rain. Towards the end of the week, the plywood decking for the floor should be going down. |
