High Performance Structures

We feel that staying up to date on the latest technology is important. That¡¯s why we have merged the excellent benefits of Steel with that of Insulated Concrete to produce a Superior home!
The Arxx Insulated Concrete Form ( ICF ) wall system can be used in combination with our Steel Framing System for a High Performance Structure. The Arxx wall system can also be used in place of block or poured foundations and conventional ¡ˇăstick-built¡ˇŔ walls. Because of its inherent strength, it can be used for a safe room, a basement, or walls up to 5 floors high!
The ICF wall system consists of interlocking, lightweight, expanded polystyrene forms. Designed to be an integral part of the wall, the forms remain in position after the concrete is placed. The insulating capacity of expanded polystyrene coupled with the structural integrity of reinforced concrete is a powerful combination - it makes ICF walls stronger, safer, quieter and more energy efficient.

Building ¡®Energy-Wise¡¯ Homes
A Clockwork Form

Steps of construction for Arxx forms
Footings or a monolithic slab are installed and the layout of the walls are outlined. The forms are arranged in a "running bond" pattern and the steel reinforcing bar (rebar) is snapped into the webs as required. Vertical rebar is inserted from the top of the wall. Window and door openings are placed and service penetrations are installed. The walls are aligned via the Arxx Alignment System(alignment, bracing, and scaffolding in one unit) to produce straight and plumb walls. Concrete is poured into the Arxx wall. Because of the properties of the form, the concrete is afforded a "moist cure" to maximize the concrete's strength and durability.
